Professional Statement

I am passionate about helping individuals of every age manage their mental health in ways that are unique to their needs and goals. I use a client-centered approach that integrates neurobiology, attachment theory and trauma-informed perspectives to empower individuals to take control of their inner experiences and improve the quality of relationships in ways that are meaningful to them. For 20 years I have been providing therapeutic services to children from birth through adolescence, adults, couples, families, including parent-child psychotherapy, and a variety of groups focused on specific mental health issues. My specialties include trauma-informed treatment related to major trauma and losses, as well as relational, more subtle traumatic experiences that often originate in childhood. I also specialize in treating postpartum depression in women, infant and early childhood mental health development, attachment, and parenting. Additionally, I provide treatment for children, teens, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, deficient self-esteem, ADD/ADHD, behavioral difficulties, relationship/couple issues, and transitional life distress, including illness and death. Difficult emotions, grief, current stressors or past traumas get in the way of experiencing life to its fullest. In therapy I provide a safe and supportive place to share your concerns and offer helpful guidance and interventions. Together we change the things that get in the way of your long-term goals, and work toward building a life of success and happiness.
