Professional Statement

I have been working as a licensed clinical psychologist in the Bay Area since 2003. Trained in psychodynamic, humanistic/existential, cognitive-behavioral, and other therapies, I adapt my approach to the personal needs and goals of each patient. During an initial assessment period of two to three sessions, I will listening carefully to what you have to share with me. If we decide that working together can be of help to you, we will engage in short-term dynamic psychotherapy (12 to 16 sessions), where we will work through the issues that you have presented. We will process difficult situations and emotions, look at patterns of thought and behavior, and examine your beliefs about yourself and the world. We will also work to lower personal distress and reactivity to life's stressors, increasing your capacity to create healthier solutions to life circumstances and challenges. Afterward, we will evaluate the outcomes of our collaboration and discuss whether or not to continue on to long-term therapy.
