Dr. Armstrong is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in San Francisco. She is committed to helping clients prioritize their values and live their best life – her strengths are in working with individuals who are seeking to become “unstuck,” in their lives, who are looking for general mental health and wellness treatment, and those seeking feedback regarding optimal performance in a number of areas. She also specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, and substance use disorders from a recovery-based and trauma-informed perspective. Dr. Armstrong uses a collaborative approach to find the right fit of interventions from evidence based practices, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and more relational and systemic approaches to meet client needs. Her training and experience has been with people with co-occurring mental health and medical conditions, including substance use disorders and trauma-related conditions, through community mental health, inpatient hospital, intensive outpatient, and VA treatment settings. Throughout the years, her work with a diverse array of individuals and practices has allowed insight into pain, suffering, health, and recovery through many lenses. Dr. Armstrong aims to co-create a welcoming space with clients where deep exploration and transformation might occur according to their personal values.
